•It was the highest-scoring game at Coors Field since the humidor was introduced in 2002 to try to bring some sanity to mile-high baseball, with the teams combining for 43 hits, including eight home runs, and 35 runs.

•The last time a team came back to win from nine down was Aug. 23, 2006, when Cleveland rallied for a 15-13 win at Kansas City, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

•The Marlins became only the sixth time since 1900 to score 17 or more runs and lose.

•The last time teams combined for this many runs was May 19, 1999, also at Coors Field, when the Reds ripped the Rockies 24-12.

•The Rockies scored 12 straight runs via the home run after falling behind 13-4 in the fourth inning.

•The top four hitters in Colorado's lineup - Ryan Spilborghs, Clint Barmes, Matt Holliday and Garrett Atkins - were a combined 16-for-22 with five home runs and 13 RBIs.

•Every Marlins batter in the starting lineup had at least one hit by the fourth. The Rockies scored in every inning until the eighth.

•The Marlins had their 262nd consecutive start without a complete game. That moved them past the 2006-08 Nationals for the longest such drought in major-league history.
