TAMPA - A Pasco County pain management doctor is on trial this week in federal court on charges he possessed child pornography.
Jury selection began this morning in the case of Richard Carino, whose office was on Ridge Road in Port Richey. Carino's medical license has been suspended indefinitely by the state Department of Health because he failed to notify Florida officials that his license had been revoked in Arizona, according to Department of Health records.
The Drug Enforcement Administration was investigating Carino's prescribing activities when a search of his office turned up evidence of child pornography, according to federal court records.
Several of Carino's family members, including his two ex-wives, are expected to testify against him.
