When Charlie Crist was campaigning for governor, he promised he would not allow drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico. After he was elected and became a prospective candidate for the vice president on the Republican ticket, he changed his mind about allowing drilling in the Gulf.
Crist should think about the damage that his decision can cause to the environment and the ecosystem and how much our wildlife can suffer. Our economy in Florida depends on our beaches. He should put our state first instead of a political career. Drilling in the Gulf is just putting a Band-Aid on a big problem. We do not have enough resources to solve this crisis; the United States only has 2 percent of the world's remaining oil supply.
