ST. PETERSBURG - Authorities say the girlfriend of a murder suspect was arrested after telling them she drove him to retrieve a gun before he killed a man in March.
Jonicia Sharice McNeal, 18, was arrested Sunday on a charge of being an accessory to second-degree murder. Her bail was set at $100,000.
On March 28, McNeal's boyfriend, Emanuel McCray, 22, argued with Jason McDonald, 26, outside the Inn on the Hill, at 275 34th St. S., authorities have said. McNeal then drove McCray to a house so he could get a gun, according to jail affidavits.
While she was driving McCray back to the inn, she reportedly told McCray not to shoot the weapon from her car, affidavits state.
McNeal disappeared after the shooting, and St. Petersburg police originally thought she might be in danger.
McCray was arrested in May.
