TARPON SPRINGS - A 47-year-old man found lying in the street in June has died, and authorities are classifying his death as a homicide.
James Gill, who lived at the River Village mobile home park at 702 Driftwood Lane, was found June 29 on the other side of town, at Lime Street and Levis Avenue, Tarpon Springs police said.
He was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, where he died Thursday, said Lt. Barbara Templeton of the Tarpon Springs police department. The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office has ruled the cause of Gill's death as homicide, Templeton said.
Authorities are not saying how Gill was slain, and no other information was available.
