GARDEN NOTES

Classes

WORKSHOPS: The Garden Club of St. Petersburg will hold Coffee & Garden Crafts Workshops from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Mondays through Aug. 18. The workshop for Monday will be the first of two sessions on "Pressed Flowers," which concludes on July 21. July 28 will be "Photo or Recipe Holder." Aug. 4 will be "Painting Clay Pots." Aug. 11 will be "Gardening Glove Treasure," and the workshop for Aug. 18 has yet to be decided. All workshops are open to the public. Please bring scissors, pencils and small paintbrushes. POND LANDSCAPING: Pondscapes, 4213 S. Manhattan Ave., Tampa, hosts a free pond-building class at 9 a.m. on the last Saturday monthly. For information, call (813) 839-8062.

BONSAI: Eve's Garden, 5602 Land O' Lakes Blvd., Land O' Lakes, offers free bonsai tree demonstrations from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Call (813) 996-5012 for information.

BIRD FEEDING: Wild Birds Unlimited, 13140 N. Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, offers free backyard bird-feeding classes at 9 a.m. on the first Saturday monthly. For information, Call (813) 961-2772.

Meetings

JOINT MEETING: The annual joint meeting of the Suncoast Native Plant Society, Tampa Audubon and Tampa Bay Sierra Club will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Hillsborough Extension Office at 5339 County Road 579, Seffner. St. Petersburg Times nature writer Jeff Klinkenberg will host a presentation on the history of the vanishing Florida landscape. The meeting will include a potluck dinner. Attendees are asked to bring a dish to share. The meeting is free and the public is welcome. Call (813) 960-8132.
