AP Youth Tennis Clinic AVON PARK - The city of Avon Park Recreation Department is offering a tennis clinic for boys and girls grades 5-10 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. from July 7 through Aug. 1 at the Donaldson Park tennis courts in downtown Avon Park. Camp days are Tuesday.s Thursdays and Friday's and the cost is $25 per person. Fee includes beginners tennis raquet and a t-shirt. AP Youth Football Registering
AVON PARK - Avon Park Youth Football will hold registration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 19 at Memorial Field.

Cost is $100 for cheerleading, $75 for tackle football and $60 for flag football.

Parents or legal guardians should bring birth certificate and physical dated in 2008 (forms at AP Recreation Center and Park Elementary) and recent picture (within six months) of participant.

Cheerleaders play in divisions based on age (as of Aug. 1, 2008).

A parent meeting will be held at 12:30 p.m. on July 19 at Memorial Field and practices begin July 21.

Golf Hammock Raising Funds For Hanson House

SEBRING - Golf Hammock golf club will offer range balls and use of driving range on weekends throughout the summer for parents or guardians wishing to instruct junior golfers (ages 7 to 14).

Donations of any amount will be accepted for the Hanson House of Sebring, a safehouse for teen-age girls.

American Cancer Society Tourney On Tap
AVON PARK - The third annual American Cancer Society charity golf tournament is set for an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Saturday, July 12 at River Greens golf course.

Cost is $40 per player, which includes lunch and a free sleeve of balls.

The two-person, best-ball tourney will have gross and net winners and will feature 50/50 drawings, a closest to the pin contest, a long putt contest and gift certificates.
