TAMPA - Phosphate giant The Mosaic Co. is planning a new divisional headquarters building in the FishHawk Ranch area, where it will consolidate 400 jobs from around the area.
The company said today it has signed an agreement to buy 7.4 acres along FishHawk Boulevard from Newland Communities, the developer of FishHawk Ranch. There, it will build a 100,000-square-foot office building to house administrative and management employees working for Mosaic's phosphate and supply chain units.
The new location is roughly at the center of where those employees live throughout Polk and Hillsborough counties, Rich Krakowski, a Mosaic vice president, said in a prepared statement. The location will be on the south side of FishHawk Boulevard just east of Bell Shoals Road. The headquarters will anchor the office portion of a new Newland Communities village center in the area.
Based in Minneapolis, Mosaic had revenues of more than $5.8 billion last year. It employs 7,000 people worldwide, including 3,000 in its Florida phosphate unit.
