DADE CITY - A tanker truck carrying used oil overturned on a rural stretch of road outside Dade City on Wednesday evening, spilling some of its cargo.
The truck, hauling a 900-gallon tank, flipped shortly before 6 p.m., blocking both lanes of Prospect Road, between Handcart Road and Clinton Avenue.
The road was blocked for several hours while crews cleaned up the spill and pulled the truck off the road.
Pasco County emergency management officials responded to the crash site to assess the effect of the spill, as did representatives from the company that owns the truck, Synergy Recycling.
