Pasco County may be in store for more rough weather today.
The rain in Pasco County has weakened, but there are more storms offshore. With the constant west wind, expect these showers and storms to move onshore in a few hours. With high moisture content in the atmosphere, any storms that do form could produce locally heavy rain.
Earlier this morning, strong storms moved from the Gulf of Mexico onshore in Pasco County. These showers contained very heavy rain, gusty winds and frequent lightning. The National Weather Service issued a Special Marine Warning for this area for gusty winds and possible waterspouts. The Bay Area is experiencing a "reverse summer pattern." During this weather pattern, our winds are predominantly out of the west. This flow brings moisture from the Gulf of Mexico onshore causing morning coastal rain showers and inland storms in the afternoon.
