Are you aware of how much stress you can relieve by a leisurely cruise down the canal into Lake June?... A lot !
Floating on the water past your neighbors, under the trees lining the route, listening to the sound of the birds... and sometimesbeing surprised by a splash when some underwater creature decides to jump and salute you... Those are treasured memories your family and friends will cherish for the rest of their lives. Our backyards are as precious as those far away places we pay fortunes to go and visit. Have you taken a sunset cruise lately, or a trip to lunch on a sand bar? From this almost new home on Ash Street in Lake Placid you can boat upstream and reach Lake Carrie, or boat downstream to Lake June just minutes away.
The house is located at 3007 Ash Street, in the Leisure Lakes community of Lake Placid. Having 2 lots gives you all the space needed for a side garage entry. Fruit trees line up the east side of the driveway: Mangos and Citrus trees. This charming house was custom built for the owner in 2004 by Bevis Construction.
When you come in through the front door you immediately see through the living room and porch areas out to the canal. In the living room, the entire east wall is mirrored which gives it a nice spacious, open feeling. The dining room is wide open to the living room with a bay window looking out to the backyard and the canal. When family and friends are gathered to share fun moments nobody is left alone in the kitchen. The kitchen is located in such a way that is part of the living areas without being too noticeable. From the window in the kitchen, you can see who is approaching the front door. Solid surface countertops in the kitchen and both bathrooms are neutral in color and will accomodate any color scheme. Living room, dining room, kitchen, porch and both bathrooms have tile floors. All three bedrooms are carpeted.
There is an unsual feature in the master bathroom and it is the laundry nook. What looks like a large linen closet is a washer and dryer instead. On the other side of the house you will find the other 2 bedrooms and bath. The garage is huge 24x30. Not only you could park 2 cars in there but there is plenty of space to set you up with a workshop.
Pocket sliding glass doors open the living room to the screened porch in the back. The owners made sure they have enough space to have the boathouse built on the west side of the property and keep an unobstracted view of the natural shore line for all the wildlife to visit while the humans watch.
These canals are wide, deep and beautiful. The fluctuation of water level from wet season to dry season is hardly noticeable in these deep canals.
The backyard is spacious enough to accomodate a swimming pool if one is wanted. The house was built in the middle of two lots to keep a healthy buffer between neighbors. Don't we all cherish our privacy?
