Motorcycle Crash Kills One In Pinellas Park

PINELLAS PARK - The Florida Highway Patrol is at the scene of a fatal motorcycle crash involving a 20-year-old rider, authorities said.

The wreck happened shortly after 9 p.m. at 49th Street and 62nd Avenue North when the motorcycle and a truck collided, fire rescue dispatchers said.

Details of the crash are not immediately available, but the highway patrol and Pinellas Park police responded to the scene after hearing reports that a 20-year-old suffered multiple fractures and head injuries, dispatchers said.

The identity of the motorcycle rider, who died at the scene, was not released by authorities late Monday night.

Surrounding roads have been shut down and the highway patrol is redirecting traffic.
