The Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the United Kingdom's Serious Organised Crime Agency came together to help fight transcontinental organized crime.
Earlier today in London, FDLE Commissioner Gerald Bailey and SOCA Deputy Director David Armond agreed to exchange relevant investigative and intelligence information to fight organized crime in Florida and the United Kingdom.
"Criminal activity crosses international borders and often leads to complex and highly sophisticated investigations," Bailey said. "This partnership offers new opportunities to dismantle transcontinental organized groups."
A press release issued by Gov. Charlie Crist's office hopes that the partnership between SOCA and FDLE will enhance Florida's ability to investigate and prosecute international organized criminal groups that pose the greatest threats to Florida's citizens and visitors.
