DUNEDIN - Two men staying at a motel were arrested today after being accused of stealing electricity from a nearby business, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said.
Timothy Joseph Linares, 46, of Dunedin, was charged with power theft, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Johnathan Bond, 35, also of Dunedin, was charged with power theft and possession of cocaine. Bond was also wanted on a warrant for failing to pay child support, deputies said.
The manager of the motel, Demetrius Del Sol, 46, of Dunedin, was seen driving onto the property and after deputies questioned him, they discovered Del Sol had a suspended driver's license, the sheriff's office said. Del Sol was then arrested on a driving with a suspended license charge.
A business owner called 911 this afternoon to report that someone had plugged an extension cord from his business at 1140 Main St. to Unit No. 4 of the Dunedin Cove Motel, 1220 Main St., the sheriff's office said.
Linares was being held on $500 bail today at Pinellas County Jail. Bond is being held on $5,400 bail. Booking information was not immediately available for Del Sol.
