Tierra Verde - A 60-year-old construction worker fractured his pelvis this morning when the forklift he was using to load cinder blocks rolled over him and pinned him from the waist down, fire officials said.
Larry Hall was expected to survive the 10:26 a.m. mishap at One Colony Road, said Lt. Joel Granata of St. Petersburg Fire and Rescue.
Hall's co-workers quickly improvised a rescue, using another forklift and a tractor to lift the forklift off of him, Granata said. He was free by the time firefighters arrived and was taken to Bayfront Medical Center, Granata said.
