TAMPA - Two chickens, a pitbull mix and her two puppies were living outside a duplex within inches of feces and urine, according to Hillsborough County Animal Services spokeswoman.
The animals' owner, Kenneth Keith Young Jr., was arrested 8:02 a.m. today and charged with three counts of animal cruelty and five counts of confinement of animals without food and water.
Animal Services spokeswoman Marti Ryan said investigators followed up on an anonymous call and that Tampa police arrested Young, 27, at 3224 N. 48th St.
The animals have been turned over to Animal Services' care, Ryan said.
Young's bail was set today at $8,500. He has since been released from jail.
