3 Tampa Starbucks Among 59 In Florida To Be Closed

Three Tampa locations are on the list of about 600 company-operated sites to be closed, the company revealed Thursday.

The stores are at Race Track Road and Hillsborough Avenue, University Mall and Citrus Park.

Also set to be closed are locations at:

•Countryside Mall and Kapok Cove and McMullen Booth in Clearwater

•DeSoto Square in Bradenton

•Lakeland Square Mall

• Sixth Avenue South and Sixth Street in St. Petersburg

In all, 59 Florida locations are targeted for closure starting this month and continuing into next year, the company said.

At the end of March, there were 16,226 Starbucks stores around the world. The company operates 7,257 of those stores in the U.S. and 1,867 abroad; the remaining 7,102 locations are run by partners who license the Starbucks brand.
