CRYSTAL RIVER - Six teams went 3-0 Sunday in the Little League Section 7 All-Star Tournament at Bicentennial Park, earning berths in the Little League state tournaments for each class.
All-Star teams advancing are Palma Ceia Junior Softball All-Stars, Keystone 9 and 10 Softball All-Stars, Keystone Major Softball All-Stars and Bayshore 9 and 10 Baseball All-Stars.
Junior Softball:
West Pasco 5, Dunnellon 1
West Pasco played errorless defense to beat Dunnellon, finishing the tournament 2-1. Nikki Case was the winning pitcher. West Pasco's Amber Maxey was 2-for-3 with two runs. Amber Jones doubled, scored two runs and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. Chelsea Gorr was 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored.
Both teams had seven hits.
"That's our team," Manager Mike Webb said. "No errors. Case and Maxey complement each other. Defense was the key today. I wish we had another shot at Palma Ceia."
9 and 10 Softball:
West Pasco 11, Inverness 10
Anessa Holes doubled and scored on an error in the sixth inning to give West Pasco the victory. West Pasco hurler Mackenzie Goluba struck out 10 and allowed seven hits to take the victory.
West Pasco's victory made the team 1-2 in sectionals.
"We came into this thing after winning districts," Manager Kurt Goluba said. "We ended on a good note. We had a good time."
