LARGO - A Pinellas County Sheriff's Office deputy has been suspended for three days because of tattoos he got after he was hired, according to a memorandum released today.
Further, until the tattoos are removed, Deputy Aaron Simpson will not be given any assignment involving contact with the public; he won't be allowed to bid for a shift he might like to work; and while commuting he cannot be seen in uniform by the public, the memorandum states.
The memorandum does not describe the tattoos or give their location. Those details are in an internal affairs case file that has not been made public.
"The tattoos you have acquired since you began employment with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, and their locations on your body are unprofessional and prohibit your ability to well represent the Sheriff's Office," the memorandum states.
The tattoos came to light on March 27, the memorandum states.
