TAMPA - Police released store security video today of a man who pointed a gun at a clerk while trying to rob a convenience store.
The man entered the Farm Store, 125 W. Linebaugh Ave., about 6:25 p.m. Wednesday and requested a pack of Newport cigarettes, Tampa police said. As the female clerk handed over the cigarettes and told him the price of $3.99, the man pulled out a handgun and demanded she open the register.
"I can't open the register without a key," the woman said on the video as the man shoved her and insisted. "You wanna try it, come on."
The man left without any money.
Police described the man as black and in his 20s. He stands about 5 feet 10 to 6 feet tall and weighs roughly 150 pounds. He has light facial hair and wore a black T-shirt, black pants, a dark do-rag on his head and light-framed sunglasses.
Police ask anyone with information about the man to call (813) 231-6130.
