Bicyclist Killed in U.S. 19 Accident

HUDSON - A fatal traffic accident involving a bicycle and a vehicle has left the bicyclist dead, said the Florida Highway Patrol.
The patrol says the rider was heading south on the edge of U.S. 19 around 12:30 p.m. near Denton Avenue in Hudson when he lost control and overturned in the outside lane of traffic.
Two southbound lanes of U.S. 19 were closed but since have reopened.
The adult male victim's name is being withheld until next of kin has been notified, the patrol said.
The patrol is asking anyone who saw the accident to call Cpl. K.W. Ratcliff at (727) 841-4181, Ext. 126.
