PORT RICHEY - A man was fatally shot in the chest this afternoon at a home on El Camino Paloma Street, and Pasco County sheriff's deputies are searching for two men who drove off in a white or pearl Cadillac.

The sheriff's office received a call just before 4:30 p.m. about the shooting at 6735 El Camino Paloma St. The victim, a man in his late 30s or early 40s, was shot at least once in the chest and found in the garage. The man who found him told investigators he heard several gunshots before finding his friend.

The victim was taken to North Bay Hospital in New Port Richey, where he died. The sheriff's office is not releasing his name, pending notification of his family.

The men deputies are looking for drove off in a 2000 or 2001 white or pearl Cadillac with dark-tinted windows and chrome rims.
