ST. PETERSBURG - Detectives are asking the public for help finding a killer in the July 12 slaying of a cabdriver.
Linda L. Faison, 39, a Yellow Cab driver, picked up a fare about 5:40 a.m. near Third Avenue South and 64th Street, St. Petersburg police said. A bicyclist found Faison's body a short time later on a one-lane service road at Azalea Middle School, 7855 22nd Ave. N.
The service road is between the school and a science center. Faison was killed at that location, and the killer took her cab, abandoning it in a parking lot at 7010 Sunset Drive S. in South Pasadena, detectives said.
The killer, driving erratically, tried to park the cab at spots between First Avenue South and Gulfport Boulevard South and between 60th Street South and Sunset Drive South between 6 and 7 a.m., detectives said.
Anyone with information should call the St. Petersburg Police Department's homicide division at (727) 893-7164 or the communications center at (727) 893-7780.
