LAND O’ LAKES - Deputies have identified a woman who was fatally stabbed during a domestic dispute Sunday.
Orane Glen Ferguson, 29, stabbed his wife, 35-year-old Lenora Michelle Ferguson, at their home at 3400 Tarbolton Way, said Pasco County Sheriff's Office spokesman Doug Tobin.
Orane Ferguson also stabbed his wife's son, 16-year-old Gabriel L. Neal, in the chest, Tobin said.
Neal is in fair condition at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital.
"We are thankful for the amount of support we have received from our friends, family and the community during this difficult time," Neal's relatives say in a written statement released by the hospital. "Gabriel is in fair condition, and we remain hopeful for a full recovery."
Deputies say the husband and wife argued and then got into a fistfight over food Sunday night. Michelle Ferguson called to her son to call 911. The teen then went into the kitchen and grabbed a knife; Orane Ferguson followed and did the same, deputies say.
Michelle Ferguson then ran to a bathroom and shut the door, Tobin said. That's when, authorities say, Orane Ferguson kicked down the door and stabbed her.
Neal tried to enter the bathroom, Tobin said, and was stabbed.
Deputies arrested Orane Ferguson late Sunday night. He has been charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder.
He was expected to have his first appearance in court at 1 p.m. today in New Port Richey.
