Plant High quarterback Aaron Murray began the day with a strenuous workout, worked in a little Laguna Beach time and ended it by winning the EA Sports video game tournament.1>
The second day was real good. It was a little slow for me because I was really, really tired from practicing the night before and then to come out first thing in the morning was tough. But it was a really, really good day. Good competition with everybody. I had fun and I learned a lot.
Chalk talk was great. We talked about different defenses and different plays. The college coaches would get on the board and show us different plays that they use with different defenses. I wrote a couple of plays down in my book that I'm going to take back with me to Tampa and show Coach [Robert] Weiner and see what he thinks. I learned a lot about different plays and about different defenses. We're going to go over more defenses and watch more film of defenses tomorrow.
The beach was awesome. I just hung out with the guys and played some basketball and some volleyball. It was really cool just to hang with these guys and see that we all have lives other than football. We like to chill and hang out at the beach. I got to know a bunch of guys just by hanging out with them. It gave us an opportunity to really get to know each other.
In the video tournament, I was actually the second to last ranked player. Everybody thought I would lose in the first round and I ended up surprising everybody. I was the 15th-ranked player and I played the 16th-ranked player in the championship game. So the two last-ranked players made it to the finals. It was great.
