TAMPA - Deputies arrested two Tampa men and charged them with stealing more than $250 worth of diesel fuel from a semitrailer around 10:30 p.m. Monday, according to an arrest report.
Joseph Laun, 18, and Charles Laun, 23, were seen removing diesel fuel from a semitrailer parked at Storopack Inc., a packaging and shipping company, according to the report.
The men used a hose and an electrical pump powered by their pickup truck to siphon about 55 gallons of diesel into a 150-gallon tank in the bed of the pickup, according to the report. Deputies arrived just as the men were pulling away. Deputies say the men acknowledged taking the fuel and were arrested.
Both were charged with burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, possession of burglary tools and dealing in stolen property, all felonies, and petit theft, a misdemeanor. Charles Laun was also charged with driving with a canceled, suspended or revoked license, a misdemeanor.
Charles Laun was released at 9:38 a.m. Tuesday on $12,250 bail. Joseph Laun remains in custody.
