GARDEN NOTES

Classes

WORKSHOPS: The Garden Club of St. Petersburg will hold Coffee & Garden Crafts Workshops from 9:30 a.m. to noon Mondays through Aug. 18. The Monday (July 28) session will be "Photo or Recipe Holder." Aug. 4 will be "Painting Clay Pots." Aug. 11 will be "Gardening Glove Treasure"; the workshop for Aug. 18 has yet to be decided. All workshops are open to the public. POND LANDSCAPING: Pondscapes, 4213 S. Manhattan Ave., Tampa, hosts a free pond-building class at 9 a.m. on the last Saturday monthly. For information, call (813) 839-8062.

BONSAI: Eve's Garden, 5602 Land O' Lakes Blvd., Land O' Lakes, offers free bonsai tree demonstrations from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Call (813) 996-5012 for information.

Meetings

BEGONIAS: The Begonia Society of Tampa Bay will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday in member Janice Gorgoglione's garden. Guests are welcome, and first-time visitors will receive a free begonia. Call (813) 779-7641 for directions.

NATIVE PLANTS: The Nature Coast Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society will meet at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 12 in the Fellowship Hall at St. Mark's Presbyterian Church, 7922 S.R. 52, Hudson. Call (727) 848-2177.

ORCHIDS: The Florida West Coast Orchid Society will meet at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 14 at the Pinellas County Cooperative Extension (Botanical Gardens), 12175 125th St. N., Largo. Jim and Emily Clarkson will discuss How to Ready Your Orchids for the Show Bench. Call (727) 460-4606.
