CLEARWATER - Clearwater narcotics detectives arrested two on suspicion of drug dealing Thursday night and confiscated nearly 500 Ecstasy pills, authorities said.
James Alderman, 40, of 3417 East Diana St., Tampa, was charged with being a principle in the first degree. He was being held at the Pinellas County Jail, with bail set at $5,000.
Jason Scott Gonzalez, 26, of 3329 Meta Court, Largo, was charged with trafficking in MDMA, or Methylenedioxymethamphetamine, which has the street name of Ecstasy, said Elizabeth Daly-Watts, Clearwater's police spokeswoman.
The pair had arrived at the parking lot of 2071 Gulf-to-Bay Blvd. at roughly 8:15 p.m., Daly-Watts said. Undercover detectives arrested the pair and seized 479 pills of MDMA and a 1999 Cadillac sedan.
