TAMPA - The American Red Cross' Tampa Bay chapter has responded to four incidents since Friday afternoon. The chapter serves Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas counties.
According to a Red Cross news release:
•At 3 p.m. Friday, volunteers were called to a New Port Richey house fire. Several people, including two children, were displaced, and the Red Cross provided groceries and clothing.
•At 1 a.m. Saturday, volunteers were called to a fatal fire in New Port Richey. There, they offered emotional support, temporary lodging and the means to replace groceries and clothes.
•At 2 p.m. Saturday, a family of four returned to its Tampa home and discovered a collapsed roof and damaged kitchen. Volunteers offered temporary lodging and a means to replace groceries and lost medication.
•Also at 2 p.m. Saturday, volunteers checked in at a Hudson fire scene and offered a couple a temporary stay at a hotel, as well as the means to purchase clothes and groceries.
