On the next tee: the final of the three World Golf Championship events, the second of three consecutive majors on the Champions Tour and the final LPGA major of the season. And that doesn't even take into account Michelle Wie's appearance at the PGA Tour's Legends Reno-Tahoe Open, which features on the year's weakest fields since it is played opposite a WGC event.

NEED TO KNOW: Other than Tiger Woods, who won six of the first eight Bridgestone Invitationals held at Firestone, Darren Clarke (2003) and Stewart Cink ('04) are the only players to win a WGC title at the venue.

WOMEN'S BRITISH OPEN

WHERE: Sunningdale GC; Berkshire, England

TV: Thursday-Friday-TNT, 10 a.m.-noon; Saturday-WFTS, Ch. 28, 1:30-3 p.m.; Sunday-WFTS, Ch. 28, 1-3 p.m.

NEED TO KNOW: Lorena Ochoa, who has a tour-best six victories this season, broke through and won her first major last year by capturing the first women's tourney to be held on the Old Course at St. Andrews.

U.S. SENIOR OPEN

WHERE: The Broadmoor Resort (East Course); Colorado Springs, Colo.

NEED TO KNOW: This will be the sixth USGA event held at The Broadmoor. The first: the 1959 U.S. Amateur won by Jack Nicklaus. The last: the 1995 U.S. Women's Open, won by Annika Sorenstam.
