HOLIDAY - A 22-year-old Hudson man was arrested Monday , accused of breaking into a home and stealing copper.
Sometime between July 2 and July 17, Kenneth Andrew Adams, of 11517 State Road 52, Lot 93, stole a drill, ladder, two copper bowls, a copper pitcher and several pounds of copper tile roofing from a home on Ivy Lane, according to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report.
The homeowner told deputies all the copper tiles left to finish his roof were missing. That kind of tile is considered rare, according to a report.
From that first day through July 23, Adams went to STR Recycling in New Port Richey and sold the copper for $3,000.
After being read his legal rights, Adams admitted to a detective that he entered the home and stole the item over a period of several days.
He was arrested on a burglary charges. A bail bonds company also withdrew bail on a previous burglary charge. He was being held today at the Land O' Lakes Jail with bail set at $7,500.
