ORLANDO - An appeals court has denied a bail reduction request for the mother of a 2-year-old missing girl.
Casey Anthony is being held on $500,000 bail on charges of child neglect, making false statements and obstructing an investigation. Police say the 22-year-old mom lied to them and didn't report her daughter Caylee missing for more than a month. Casey Anthony hasn't been charged with her daughter's disappearance.
Defense attorney Jose Baez appealed Anthony's bail, set last week by an Orange Circuit Court judge, and had asked the 5th District Court of Appeal to direct the lower court to set a $10,000 bond. A spokeswoman for Baez's office said the attorney is planning to appeal the case to the Florida Supreme Court.
