LARGO - A bailiff was suspended for three days after flexing his muscles for a jury while court was in session, according to a Pinellas County Sheriff's Office memorandum released this afternoon.
Deputy Brian C. Britt's three-day suspension ends today, the memorandum states.
"On May 8, 2008, while assigned to a trial in a Pinellas County Courtroom, you intentionally flexed your chest muscles on two occasions in an attempt to entertain the jury," Sheriff Jim Coats states in the memo. "This action was done during a time when court was in session and all of the courtroom personnel were present."
Britt was found to have violated a policy that stipulates that sheriff's employees are to conduct "their private and personal lives in such a manner as to not bring discredit to the Sheriff's Office," the memorandum states.
