A man on a motor scooter was dragged about 10 feet by a woman trying to rip gold chains off his neck as she drove away, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Reinaldo Enchautegui, 54, was riding his scooter on 60th Avenue West in Bradenton at 6:25 p.m. Monday when two women in a white vehicle, possibly an Oldsmobile, asked to see his sunglasses.
As one woman handed Enchautegui his glasses, she grabbed three necklaces and attempted to rip them off his neck, according to the sheriff's office.
Enchautegui punched her in the face and she drove away holding his necklaces.
Enchautegui suffered scratches that did not require medical attention. The women fled the area with the gold necklaces, the sheriff's office said.
