Some were inspiring, some were insightful, and some were just flat-out funny.
OK, so some of them may not be worthy of Father of the Year nominations. Al Bundy, Archie Bunker and even Homer Simpson aren't exactly the models for stability, but they among were the dads with which we formed our own connections.
And in their own ways, they meant as much to us as Jim Anderson, Ward Cleaver and Howard Cunningham - fathers whose authoritative presence and common-sense outlooks garnered respect from kids and other adults alike.
So as Father's Day approaches, and we fondly recall those special memories we've shared with our own dads, we pay tribute to the TV fathers with whom we have shared so much of our time.
