St. Pete Man Charged In Deadly Attack At Lake Maggiore

ST. PETERSBURG - Police have arrested a man they say fatally shot a woman May 9 as she sat in a car near Lake Maggiore.
Dangelo Q. Hutchinson, 28, of 1630 15th Ave. S., was charged Tuesday with one count of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder.
Angela Burgess, 33, died from multiple gunshot wounds about 5:15 a.m. May 9 as she slept in a car parked in the 2800 block of Pallanza Way South. She was waiting for her friend, Willie C. Edwards, 33, while he fished on the northeast edge of the 385-acre lake, investigators said.
A man carrying a high-powered, semiautomatic rifle fired several rounds at Burgess and Edwards, police said. Edwards was shot in the leg before he dived into the water. The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
Hutchinson was taken to Pinellas County Jail. Booking information was not immediately available.
