THE EYE
In this remake of yet another Japanese horror flick, Jessica Alba plays a violinist who has been blind since a childhood accident. After receiving a corneal transplant, she regains partial sight, but only of the spooky, haunted, slo-mo-and-CGI movie variety (think "Blink," et al.); apparently the previous owner of said corneas saw dead people.
PG-13; 97 minutes
FLAWLESS
This heist movie is told in flashback form by Demi Moore. Wearing piles of faux geezer makeup, Moore's character recounts a daring 1960s scheme to rob her former employer, a corrupt boy's club doing business as a diamond company. Her accomplice is the ubiquitous Michael Caine, here playing a janitor with a grudge.
PG-13; 109 minutes
SEMI-PRO **½
Will Ferrell brings his patented brand of laid-back dopiness to yet another sports-themed comedy, though basketball is less inherently funny than figure skating, even in the era of short shorts in which "Semi-Pro" is set. His teammates on the Flint Tropics, a truly pathetic ABA team that is trying to join the NBA, include Woody Harrelson and Andre Benjamin.

VINCE VAUGHN'S WILD WEST COMEDY SHOW: 30 DAYS & 30 NIGHTS **
This documentary is about a comedy tour arranged by Vince Vaughn, in which four unknown comedians (Sebastian Maniscalco, Bret Ernst, John Caparulo and Ahmed Ahmed) spend a month on the road. On-stage bits include cameos by Vaughn's more famous friends (Jon Favreau, Justin Long).
R; 100 minutes
MEET THE SPARTANS
The "creative" minds behind such cinematic classics as "Epic Movie" and "Date Movie" have scaled back their ambitions slightly with the latest entry in their disposable parody oeuvre. Rather than making fun of an entire genre, "Meet the Spartans" is an extended riff on "300", with the usual array of random pop culture references.
PG-13; 84 minutes
CITY SLICKERS: COLLECTOR'S EDITION
The Billy Crystal comedy about suburban guys trying to cure midlife ennui with a visit to a dude ranch gets a new lease on DVD life with this souped-up edition. Special features include two deleted scenes, audio commentary by director Ron Underwood and stars Crystal and Daniel Stern, and featurettes on the script and Norman the calf.
PG-13; 114 minutes
