Teen Dies When Stolen Pickup Crashes Near Mulberry

A teenage boy has died after he and another teen were involved in a wreck in a stolen pickup in Polk County early Thursday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Andre Sexton, 16, was killed when the truck flipped on County Line Road south of Mulberry.
Investigators say Sexton was the passenger in the Ford F-150, which they later learned was stolen from Plant City. They think the driver was another 16-year-old, Kenneth J. Brown of Plant City.
About 6:25 a.m., the truck spun out of control on County Line Road. It flipped onto its side, partially ejecting Sexton from his seat.
When the truck stopped moving, the driver ran away, according to a patrol news release.
Brown, who received minor injuries, was arrested within two hours of the crash. He faces charges of grand theft of a motor vehicle, driving without a license, and leaving the scene of a fatal crash.
