NORTH FORT MYERS - Officials say about 50 mobile homes were damaged but no one was seriously injured when a possible tornado moved through northern Lee County.
North Fort Myers Fire Chief Terry Pye said at least eight homes were heavily damaged, and at least 40 more had minor damage from the storm Sunday evening. Pye says one person suffered minor injuries but refused treatment.
The National Weather Service said a tornado was spotted by radar about 5 p.m., and law enforcement officials also reported a tornado sighting above North Fort Myers. A tornado warning issued for northern Lee County expired at 5:45 p.m.
