TAMPA - Police are searching for a man they say robbed and beat his neighbor after accusing him of stealing cable service.
Greg E. Parks, 31, of 8514 N. Tampa St., is sought on a felony charge of home invasion robbery, Tampa police said this morning.
Police on Sunday arrested Parks' wife, Precious Jones, 38, on the same charge. Jail records show Jones posted $15,000 bail and left jail.
According to a preliminary police report, officers responded to the 8500 block of North Tampa Street about 11:50 p.m. Saturday after Jones accused her next-door neighbor, Nestor Vincente, 35, of stealing cable service. Police found no proof of the theft and left once the dispute appeared settled.
About 5:30 a.m. Sunday, Vincente was awakened by someone knocking on his front door, he told police. As he got up to see who it was, the door flew open and Parks attacked him, kicking him, the report states.
Jones entered and told Parks to beat Vincente, Vincente told police. Parks then went to Vincente's bedroom and took $250 his wallet, the report states.
After the couple left, Vincente locked himself in his bedroom and climbed out the window to seek help at St. Joseph's Hospital, the report states.
Parks is thought to be driving a black 1999 Ford Explorer with the license plate 64KNG.
