Tampa Children Left In Car; Mom Arrested

TAMPA - Mailyn Nunez left two children inside her 1996 Kia for nearly an hour Monday afternoon with the vehicle's doors locked, air conditioner on and engine running, Hillsborough County deputies say.
Deputies arrested Nunez at 3:49 p.m. Monday.
She was charged with two counts of felony child neglect.
Nunez, 21, drove the Kia to American Staffing Resources, 108 W. Fletcher Ave., and left the children inside the vehicle, sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said. The children are 1 and 5 years old.
A passer-by apparently saw the children in the car and called deputies, Carter said.
Nunez, of 4807 San Pablo Place in Tampa, was released from the Orient Road Jail today. Her bail had been set at $4,000.
