SOUTH PASADENA - An 80-year-old Seminole man died Tuesday night after the sport utility vehicle he was driving veered into oncoming traffic on Pasadena Avenue and crashed into a car head-on, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
Harold C. Dietz of 116 Dogwood Circle was driving his 2006 GMC Envoy north at 6:40 p.m. near Sun Island Drive when veered into the median and then the southbound lane, sheriff's officials said.
The Envoy struck head-on a 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis driven by Kathleen Labedzki, 60, of 473 Hermosita Drive, St. Pete Beach, sheriff's officials said. Labedzki was treated for injuries at Bayfront Medical Center.
Dietz was taken to Palms of Pasadena Hospital and died at 11:05 p.m. Tuesday, sheriff's officials said.
