Gibsonton Man Charged With Soliciting Child Sex Online

TAMPA - A Gibsonton man is accused of traveling to Brandon to engage in sex with someone he thought was a 12-year-old girl, an affidavit states.
Carl M. Cocking, 35, was released from Hillsborough County Jail today after posting $2,000 bail. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office arrested him Tuesday.
Cocking is charged with a felony computer pornography charge. According to a criminal report affidavit, Cocking used Internet chat rooms and e-mails from May 30 through Tuesday to solicit "a parent of a child to consent to participation of such a child in any sexual act."
The affidavit states Cocking traveled from his home on Tuesday to Brandon "to meet who he believes is a 12-year-old female to engage in sexual conduct."
