Regarding "Details Emerge On Library Attack, Victim" (front page, June 7):
I read with sadness the front-page article about the suspect in the Bloomingdale Library rape case. I also read the heartbreaking Steve Otto column about the innocent victim. She had the world by the tail until a monster came along and brutally snatched it all away in a few horrifying moments. As a mother and a grandmother of six girls I can only imagine the pain of this family. Our quiet, friendly community will never be the same.
We are all outraged by this senseless tragedy and we should be demanding the answer to the question, "Why was this kid a student at Bloomingdale?" His home is clearly outside the school boundaries. If he had been at home on that horrible night this young woman would be packing her bags to go to the University of Florida on full scholarship instead of blind and lying in a coma.
