Groups interested in putting up their pets for adoption should contact Tara Mills, WFLA marketing and Promotions, via phone (813-314-5432) or email. (This is available to pet rescue groups only, not for individuals).
No application is required.
Please send an initial email including the group's name, address, phone number, and web site address to Tara Mills, so that an initial graphic can be set up.
Send information about your pet by every Wednesday of the week.
Include the name, age, gender, the type of animal, and a brief description. Attach a photo with the email or call 813-314-5432 in case you need more information. When the pet will air on the show is dependent on the availability of the spot and the order in which requests were received.
The segment runs every day on News Channel 8 in the 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. news and airs 10 shelters a week.
If a pet is adopted before they air they can send another request and we will do our best to replace them. However, we can't promise that it will be done as we have limited resources. We have found, however, that still airing a pet from that group, even if they have been adopted, gives them exposure and when viewers call they can direct them to all the other great pets they have in need of homes.
There is no cost involved.
