Published: June 11, 2008

Brandon High wrestling standout Eric Grajales on Tuesday was named to the 14-member first team of the 23rd annual ASICS All-America Team.

Grajales, an undefeated three-time state champion for the Eagles, was the 130-pound honoree on the first team. Grajales went 57-0 with a state-record 52 pins during his junior season and won his third consecutive Class 2A state title. He was named the Tribune's Wrestling Athlete of the Year.

Grajales was one of two Florida high school wrestlers to make the team. Fort Myers Riverdale's Scotti Sentes was an honorable mention selection. Only 112 wrestlers nationwide were honored.

Grajales will wrestle Friday in the United States Olympic Trials, where he'll try to earn a spot on the U.S. Olympic Team for the 2008 Summer Games in Beijing.
