ZEPHYRHILLS - Water service for about 100 residents in the city's southern edge will be shut off today while utility workers replace a broken fire hydrant, city officials said.
The outage will affect residents on the eastern side of Gall Boulevard, from B Avenue to Fir Avenue, and east to Alston Avenue, Clay Avenue and Hooper Street.
Utility director Louie Sellars said the water will be off from 9 to 11 a.m. and, as a result, a precautionary boil-water notice will be issued for the affected households.
Residents in those neighborhoods should bring water for drinking or cooking to a rolling boil for about one minute or use bottled water.
The advisory will remain in effect until tests confirm the water is safe to drink, he said.
