Woman's Body Found In Woods

A woman's decomposing body was discovered by a local resident around 8 p.m. Wednesday in the wooded area south of Atlanta Avenue, west of Commercial Way in Hernando County.
Shortly after deputies notified surrounding counties to be on the lookout for the victim, the Citrus County Sheriff's Office notified Hernando authorities that the victim's description matched a missing endangered adult from their county. Janet R. Wing, 74, was reported missing about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. Authorities found something at her home that raise suspicions about her disappearance, but would not elaborate.
Investigators believe the victim found in Hernando County has been dead for more than 24 hours, but have not said how she died.
