TAMPA -- Hillsborough County Deputy Arturo "Art" Lence, 53, has been released from a local hospital after being shot in the back in Carrollwood about a week ago, an official said.
Lence and Deputy Raymond Wilson, 56, were wounded June 7 in a shooting spree where Jorge Orlando Bello Garcia first fatally shot his estranged wife, her friend and a Hillsborough County fire captain, the sheriff's office said. Another deputy shot Garcia in the head as Garcia tried to wrestle away Wilson's gun, the sheriff's office said.
Sheriff's spokesman J.D. Callaway confirmed that Lence was released from St. Joseph's Hospital on Thursday.
"He's doing fine. He's recuperating at home," Callaway said.
Wilson was released from the hospital earlier this week.
