ZEPHYRHILLS - Pasco sheriff's detectives made two arrests Thursday in connection with last month's home invasion robbery during which two deaf seniors were bound and gagged.
Jonathan Scott Barker, 21, and David Agumaga Sanchez Jr., 17, were arrested separately on charges of felony home invasion robbery. Barker also was arrested by Zephyrhills police on an unrelated charge of lewd and lascivious battery, accused of having sex with a 13-year-old girl.
On May 29, Ralph Prezioso, 86, answered the door to his home in Sandlewood Mobile Home Park and was surprised by two men with guns.
According to deputies, the intruders led Prezioso into his living room, where his 77-year-old wife, Virginia, slept in a recliner.
They pointed guns at the victims' heads, put masking tape over their mouths, bound their hands and told them to keep quiet. Then the men ransacked the home and left a half hour after they showed up.
Two witnesses were in the vehicle with Barker and Sanchez prior to the robbery. The suspects told the witnesses they were going to rob the elderly couple, detectives say, before grabbing guns and leaving the vehicle.
No other arrests are expected in the case.
Barker, of 4926 Ninth St., Zephyrhills, was being held at the Land O' Lakes Jail with bail set at $110,626.
Sanchez was also booked into the jail; bail information wasn't available for him late Thursday.
